Administrator City District Government Karachi Fazlur Rehman has said that Shaheed-e-Millat Expressway Mahmoodabad Section flyover and Saddar to Jinnah Hospital flyover would be opened for traffic by the end of April.
He was briefed about two projects by EDO Works and Services during a visit to two underground flyovers here on Monday. He said work on these flyovers is going on round the clock and so far over 60 percent work has been completed.
The Administrator directed that traffic flow around while the work is in progress, should be kept in view so that it is not affected and problems created.
He pointed out that these two projects are part of signal-free corridor-IV and would bring improvement in traffic flow. Fazlur Rehman said that works in progress should not face any hinderance and development process must continue.
He told the EDO that he would make personal visits during night hours to see whether or not work is going on during night like the past.
He asked them to prepare schedule of visits and inspections of all the projects.
Administrator said that funds would not be allowed to become a problem for development projects and government would take all possible steps for continued development of Karachi.
