Samsung Ch@t B3410W |
|
|
Samsung Ch@t B3410W is a WiFi enabled update of the existing B3410 Corby Plus, the Samsung Ch@t B341W is yet another phone aimed at users of social networking sites, in an affordable package that should appeal to younger customers. It has the same chunky exterior as the original. The chunkiness is due to the full QWERTY keyboard which sits behind the 2.6 inch screen and can be slid out when you want to speed up messaging and online chatting – which, as the “@” part of the name suggests, is what this mobile phone focuses on. The auto UI rotate is possible as it comes with accelerator. The Ch@t uses the Samsung’s TouchWiz 2.0. The user interface will be easy and uncomplicated. The touchscreen will be pretty responsive and facilitates easier navigation in the menu.
The Samsung Ch@t B3410W comes with a 2.6 inch and 240×320 pixel touchscreen display, a slide-out Qwerty keypad. It has 2 megapixel camera . The QvGA resolution display might be Ok for social networking sites, but it is not much use for web surfing, and two megapixel camera are out of date, it has microsd expandable memory, Bluetooth and Usb connectivity. This is a GSM only device, but the inclusion of WiFi should partly compensate for this.
In this phone social networking support includes, inclusion of various widgets like Facbook, Flickr, MySpacge and others, and usefully the B3410W built-in WiFi means that these sites can be accessed without incurring data charges.
It does seem that every phone these days has support for facetube and Mytwit etc and the Samsung Ch@t B3410W doesn’t really stand out from the crowd. WiFi is good but this phone lacks 3G support. The Samsung Ch@t only supports 2G because 3G is not included in its setup. It is designed for messaging and includes applications that support nearly all the Web 2.0 networks. The addition of 3G would have provided the user with a much heightened browsing experience. Seemingly, it was for the sake of affordability that Samsung has done away with 3G support.
Despite the absence of 3G, the inclusion of Wi-Fi proved to be a good move. Since accessing the internet using a mobile phone can lead to higher connection fees, a lot of users can take advantage of the Wi-Fi technology included in this mobile handset. By using the phone’s Wi-Fi capability, the user can access the internet at no cost at all. Fast data transfer is also one quality that many users seek in mobile handsets. Samsung Ch@t comes with Bluetooth® and USB which can transfer data to and from compatible devices
Samsung TouchWiz interface is pretty good, and their handsets tend to be well built nit even so it is difficult to get excited about it. TouchWiz interface lets you customise the screens with the widgets, displaying them in the order you want. You’ll find the usual features on this handset that have become fairly standard on mobile phones including a basic camera (2-megapixels), a music player and FM radio, Bluetooth and USB connections. For a basic device, the inclusion of a 3.5mm audio jack is a bonus, though; as is the DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) technology so your music is played with a good sound quality. The music player also features the Find Music function which identifies tracks from a mere snippet of a recording, telling you the name of the artist and album.
