City District Government Karachi has decided to bring more animals in Karachi Zoo and construct 20 new public toilets inside the zoo. More than one lac trees will be planted in city government’s Safari Park. These measures were part of the plan aimed at improvement in two of the major recreational locations in the city.

EDO Community Development Matanat Ali Khan on Wednesday visited Karachi Safari Park where he said city government was making all efforts to provide better and well standard recreation facilities to citizens. Safari Parks in different countries were made to provide good recreation as well as knowledge about the wild life. Despite of limited resources, city government Karachi was doing its best to improve the standard of recreation facilities in the city; however this could be managed in a better way with the participation of private sector. Safari Park Karachi should be transformed into a real safari.

He also directed park’s administration to come up with suggestions to improve the standard of Safari Park.EDO Community further said that at least a lac trees will be planted inside Safari Park to give it a real and greener look. City government in this connection contact will contact with the Parks & Horticulture Department and renowned NGOs.

He said that measures to make Karachi Zoo more beautiful were also underway. Besides the addition of more animals in the zoo, 20 more public toilets were also being constructed for citizens visiting the zoo. He said that private sector cooperation will be sought for bringing more animals in the Karachi Zoo.
