ISLAMABAD: The Nation will observe Pakistan Defence Day today in simplicity on account of devastation caused by floods in the country.
The Day carries speical significance in the national history when the entire nation stood by the gallant armed forces to fight against external aggression against the country.
The Day will dawn with prayers in all mosques of the country including those in the garrisons. Prayers will be offered for the prosperity and strength of the country.
Fateha will be offered for the Shuhada who rendered supreme sacrifices while defending the motherland.
To mark the Day, national flag hoisting ceremonies will be held at all formation headquarters, units and installations. The change of guards ceremonies will be held at the mausoleums of Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi and Allama Muhammad Iqbal in Lahore.
