WAPDA men shine on 2nd day of National Athletics Championship

ISLAMABAD: The players of WAPDA shone on the second day of the 42nd National Athletics Championship organized by Athletics Federation of Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Board here on Wednesday. Marium Babar of WAPDA made a national record in the triple jump at the Jinnah Stadium with a leap of 11.64 meters. In Hammer throw, Razia Sultan of Wapda obtained the first place by throwing it for 37.44 meters.
 Abida Chagaz of Railways came at second place with 32.23 meters throw while Nazia Kausar of Wapda appeared third by making it up to 32.14 meters in the event. As many as 400 male and 200 female athletes are participating in the tournament representing 15 teams in 45 events.
Besides the four provincial teams, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force and Police are also featuring with Wapda,Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Steel Mills and the Higher Education Commission.
